Best webinars and videos for preschool teachers

As learning English at a very early age is becoming more and more widespread, there is a variety of professional development and methodology information for preschool teachers. Below I’ll share some webinar, videos and excerpts from different webinars I find really useful.

General methodology

This webinar by Herbert Puchta covers practical tips on how to make your lessons more enjoyable and make students have fun. He shares 6 main principles and 12 key strategies for teaching English to very young learners.

Preschool teachers know it’s a demanding job to teach very young learners. Novice teachers aren’t aware of the features and qualities of this age group: how to deal with them, how to manage this classroom, how to create a learning environment, how to encourage good behaviour, etc. This webinar will be useful for those who still have questions.

This short training video covers how to consolidate young learners’ vocabulary and develop their thinking and concentration skills.

Another problem preschool teachers face is how to make very young learners speak when they know only few words and phrases and as a result don’t feel comfortable to talk. How to scaffold children’s language learning? Games, songs, routines? In this webinar, you’ll get some ideas on how to make learners produce the language and boost their independence.

Another great and handy webinar by Herbert Puchta once again. We all know that stories are one of the best tools and activities to use with preschoolers. Moreover stories boost kids’ learning and make it more entertaining.

This one is not a webinar, but a training film for teachers on how to use DVD stories from Playway, but you can apply this to different coursebooks. It also covers activities with story cards, stickers and role play.
