Task 1. Warm-up

Discuss the questions:

  1. Which creature is the spookiest? Why?
  2. Do you believe in ghosts? Do you think there really are witches and monsters living amongst us in the real world, or are those things just from our imagination?
  3. Out of the creatures from the previous exercise, which would you choose for your Halloween costume? Which would be the easiest / the most difficult costume to make?
  4. What kind of costume are you going to wear (would wear) to the Halloween party this year?
  5. Can you describe the best costume you’ve ever seen?
  6. If you could choose to be any monster or creature for a day, what would it be? Why?

Task 5. Hangman

It’s high time to revise all the words you’ve learned from the previous exercises. You’re going to play a hangman game with your teacher/partner. Here are the rules:

— Your teacher/partner explains the word to you.

— You have to guess what word it is.

— If you can’t guess, the teacher/partner draws one line on the bord.

— You lose if your  teacher/partner manages to complete the picture of a hangman.

Task 6. Chain Story 

Now it’s time to start using the new vocabulary. Here’s another game to play — make a chain story. Here’s how it works:

— Your teacher/partner starts telling a story by making a sentence.

— You continue the story by making your own sentence.

— You and your teacher/partner take turns making sentences until the story reaches its logical ending.

— In your sentence you have to use at least one word from the exercises above.
