В статье план урока английского языка по теме «Halloween» для подростков возраста 16-17 лет и взрослых с уровнем Intermediate. На занятии ученики обсудят, как интересно провести праздник, выучат новые слова и тематические идиомы, посмотрят видео из известного фильма про Хэллоуин.

Task 1. Warm-up

Покажите ученикам картинки с разными занятиями на Хэллоуин. Попросите назвать, а затем поделиться, чем им нравится и не нравится заниматься в этот праздник. Дайте несколько минут, чтобы ребята могли рассказать про их личный опыт с этими же вариантами празднования.  

Look at the pictures. Name the activities people do on Halloween:

• What do you like and dislike about this holiday? Talk about your experiences doing these activities.

watching horror movies; making Halloween cookies; carving pumpkins; visiting scary places; creating content for social media / having a themed party; decorating a house.

Task 2. Lead-in

Покажите несколько постеров/скринов из разных фильмов/мультфильмов/сериалов с тематикой праздника. Выбирайте самые разные киноленты, чтобы по максимуму вовлечь учеников в задание. Попросите ребят вспомнить или придумать названия к фильмам, а затем узнайте, смотрели ли они что-нибудь из этого.

Task 4. Guessing

Включите мелодию из фильма «Halloween» и покажите фотографию дома. Попросите учеников вспомнить или угадать, из какого он фильма. Затем покажите главного злодея-персонажа. Спросите, знают ли они о нём что-нибудь. 

1. Listen to the soundtrack of the movie we are going to watch a video about.

3. Look at the main character.

Включите видео «Living in the house from Halloween» на YouTube и посмотрите его с учащимися до конца. 

Task 5. Details

Дайте ученикам несколько минут, чтобы они смогли прочитать утверждения, а затем включите видео еще раз.

Watch the video again and mark the sentences as True or False:

1. Kenny Caperton has become a horror film fan recently. 
2. The film Halloween became one of the best horror movies when it came out in 1978. 
3. Michael Myers was the main character of the film who killed people on Halloween night. 
4. Kenny was able to plan the identical house only because he had watched the film hundreds of times. 
5. Kenny has been collecting different memorabilia since he was a kid. 
6. Now Kenny is suffering from nightmares and wants to move to a different house. 

Task 6. Discussion

Теперь попросите ответить на вопросы:

1. Could you live in this house or any other house from horror movies? Why (not)?
2. Are you a fan of any actors or movies? Which ones? Why do you like them?
3. Are there any such places in your city/country? Would you go there?
