2. Colours and demonstrative pronouns

Пасха — отличный повод раскрасить яйца и выучить цвета с малышами.

Look at the pictures. Let’s repeat colours.

Поговорите про то, какие цвета вы получите, если смешаете основные. Если есть такая возможность, продемонстрируйте на практике: 

• red + blue = purple
• red + yellow = orange
• blue + yellow = green
• red + white = pink
• green + yellow = lime green

Спросите: What colour is your egg? My egg is red. It is a red egg.

Можно придумать свой дизайн и нарисовать на яйце, что нравится: цветы, фрукты, геометрические фигуры — и заодно повторить нужный вокабуляр. (A flower, the Sun, a ladybird, a triangle, an apple…) 

• It is a red egg with white flowers.
• It is a pink egg with hearts.
• What colour is this egg? And what about that one? This is a blue egg. That is a green egg.

3. Imperative. Prepositions

Давайте повторим с учениками предлоги и повелительное наклонение. Что нам нужно, чтобы сложить яйца и пасхальные куличи? 

What do we need for eggs? Where do we put eggs? We need a basket.

Повторим глаголы to give, to bring, to put, to take. 

Попросите ребёнка самостоятельно подготовить пасхальную корзину, комментируя, сколько он берёт яиц, чтобы положить их в корзину, и какого они цвета. При необходимости продемонстрируйте на своём примере. 

Prepare your Easter basket. How many eggs are there? What colours are they? Look at me.

Дальше предлагаем вспомнить игру — охота за пасхальными яйцами. Расскажите о ней подробнее, а затем покажите картинку, которую вы будете использовать для задания. Например:

4. Degrees of adjectives

В контексте Пасхи можно попрактиковать степени сравнения прилагательных с начинающими учениками.

Например: Who gives us eggs? Hens give us eggs. Do you know any other birds? Let’s match the words with the pictures. An ostrich, a quail. (Pronunciation practice)

• Which egg is the biggest / the smallest? Which egg is bigger than […] / smaller than […]?
• How many quail eggs are in one hen egg? How many hen eggs are in an ostrich egg?

Для учащихся более высоких уровней приведите факты из энциклопедии и обсудите их. Попросите найти степени сравнения прилагательных. 

Для примера:

Quail eggs are much smaller than chicken eggs, about one-fifth the size. They have 13% more protein than the recommended daily allowance. Quail eggs are more popular in many Asian countries and are commonly used in Japanese, Chinese, and Korean cuisine. 

Ostrich eggs are the largest of all eggs, though they are actually the smallest eggs relative to the size of the adult bird.

5. Describe a painting

Сделайте подборку репродукций известных художников, изображавших на своих картинах Пасху. Посмотрите репродукции:

Попросите учеников описать картины, используя слова:

• at the top
• at the bottom
• in the foreground
• in the background
• in the center
• in the corner

Задайте дополнительные вопросы. Напомните, что при описании репродукций следует использовать Present Continuous.

3. What is there in their baskets?
4. Why are they queueing?
5. What part of the day is it?

Можно рассмотреть фотографии из социальных сетей, описать, сравнить, как мы относились к празднику раньше, какие тенденции сейчас, что люди готовят/готовили, надевают/надевали, что осталось неизменным.

6. ChatGPT and voice messages

Вводные данные для ученика: вы иностранец, собираетесь в Россию, вам нужно узнать о празднике и его традициях. Задайте вопросы ChatGPT так, чтоб он выдал вам подробные ответы, на базе которых вы сможете составить свой рассказ.

In Russia, Easter is one of the most important holidays of the year. The date of Orthodox Easter sometimes coincides with the Catholic and Protestant one, and sometimes it differs. In 2025, it falls on Sunday, 20 April.

Yes, it is. Most people in Russia are Orthodox.

Holy Week, which precedes Easter Sunday, is a time of fasting and prayer for many Russians. It includes attending church services, reading the Bible, and abstaining from meat and dairy products.

Many people attend midnight services on Saturday night to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. The service includes a cross procession, in which believers light their candles, chant and walk around the church.

On Easter Sunday, Christians greet each other with the words «Christ is risen», reply «Indeed, He is risen», embrace and kiss.

Most families have Easter dishes on Sunday morning, where eggs play a significant part as a symbol of new life. Rather than the Catholic tradition of hunting for chocolate eggs, Russian people have chicken eggs painted in various colours and decorated in different ways.

Other Easter dishes include kulich — a sweet bread with raisins, nuts and candied fruit, decorated with icing and sprinkles, and paskha — a cottage cheese dessert with sugar, butter and raisins. It is typically shaped into a pyramid and decorated with religious symbols, such as a cross or the letters XB (an abbreviation for «Christ is risen» in Russian).

There are a lot of excursions, quests, games and master-classes. People get to know more about Easter celebrations and learn how to make Easter toys, as well as participating in an Easter egg hunt.

Теперь ученику нужно записать голосовое сообщение другу, который едет с ним в Россию, и пересказать информацию о празднике. 

Если студентам сложно, дайте ключевые слова или картинки. 

Дальше представим, что друг не понимает некоторые слова и просит объяснить.

Сделайте подборку слов, попросите дать дефиниции или описать своими словами, можно также выполнить упражнение на matching, если слова новые или сложные.
