ИИ-новинки: задания к уроку английского для высоких уровней

Сфера искусственного интеллекта стремительно развивается, и порой становится невозможно отследить все новости. Собрали последние новинки, которые вы можете обсудить с учениками на уроках английского языка. Задания направлены на отработку говорения, словарного запаса и чтения. Подходят взрослым с уровнем Upper Intermediate и выше.

Задание 1. Технологии и изучение языков

Покажите ученикам фотографию наушников и задайте вопрос.

Look at the picture. What do you see?

• How often do you use earphones/headphones, and what do you mostly use them for?
• Consider some unusual functions that they will be able to provide in the future.

Покажите слова из публикации, которые могут быть не знакомы ученикам. Попросите прочитать и дать объяснения тех слов, которые они знают, и попробовать угадать значения остальных. Затем откройте статью и дайте некоторое время на просмотр новой лексики в контексте. 

Look at the words from the article you are going to read. Are there any new words?

18. to roll out — to officially launch or introduce a new product or service.

Read the article and discuss it with your teacher.

Brainstorm some reasons why it is still important to learn languages rather than relying on technology.

•  It develops cognitive abilities and trains the brain. 
• It helps prevent age-related diseases, including dementia. 
• It makes you independent of technology (after all, you never know when the battery might die).

Задание 2. Музыка от ИИ

Откройте сайт Jammable, выберите несколько записей известных музыкантов и включите их. Задача учеников — попробовать назвать исполнителя. Дождитесь ответа и проясните, что все песни созданы искусственным интеллектом. После этого приведите факт из статьи «AI Song Cover Craze: How Much Does It Cost Music Artists?».

Listen to the songs. Can you guess who the performer is? Which of them do you think are AI-made?

Read the facts from an article and answer the question below. 

Did you know that AI can now recreate famous singers’ voices to perform new covers? Some AI-generated covers have gone viral online, getting millions of views and sparking debates about the future of music and originality.

• What do you think are some disadvantages of AI creating music?

Предложите также обсудить вопросы:

Если ученики хотят углубиться в тему, обсудите ещё одну статью — «Can AI Music Be Made Ethically? 200+ Musicians Weigh In», из которой они узнают об отношении артистов к использованию искусственного интеллекта в музыке. 

Также можете включить песню «Flying Through Time» — для её создания был использован искусственный интеллект. Дайте учащимся подумать, что это может быть, затем расскажите, что автор песни напела ИИ-приложению мелодию и изложила смысл, который хотела вложить в текст, и нейросеть на основе этого создала песню. В конце послушайте её ещё раз, узнайте, нравится ли она ученикам, и при желании разберите слова.

Задание 3. Помощь в ситуациях

Покажите скриншоты с сайта Pinterest или сцену из сериала «Друзья» (сезон 7, эпизод 19, минута 18:00), где один из героев пытается найти слова для объяснения своего поступка.

Затем спросите: 

• Do you think AI would respond better? Why (not)? 

Включите рекламный ролик от Cluely и после просмотра спросите, что пошло не так во время свидания. 

Watch the commercial and say what went wrong on the date.  

• What is the idea of this AI tool? 
• What are some advantages and disadvantages of this AI assistant? 
• Would you like to use it? If so, where and how? (In interviews, on dates, in negotiations, in daily life, etc.)

1. In the commercial, a schoolboy pretends to be an adult to impress a girl. Everything goes perfectly until the waiter brings him juice instead of a cocktail — and everything falls apart.

What do you think of it? Would you like other social networks to have the same feature? Which ones?
