Группируем по частицам

Чаще всего мы видим бесконечные списки фразовых глаголов и не понимаем, как научить детей их использовать: to get up, to get over, to get through и т. д. Список настолько длинный, что давайте всё же отойдём от этого способа и не будем группировать относительно глагола to get, to go и других, а попробуем держать фокус на частицах, которые и меняют это самое слово. 

Давайте предложим ученику прочитать предложения и подобрать интуитивно значение фразового глагола:

• To deplete (to sell out)
• To stop, not exist (to go out) 
• The opposite of «in» (to kick out)
• To exclude (to count out)
• When something or part of something extends from its surroundings (to stick out beyond the edge)
• To choose one from a large group (to pick out)
• To distribute among people in the group (to share out)
• To take all of someone’s money or possessions (to clean out)
• To distribute (to spread out)
• To check how it works in another environment (to test out)
• To solve a problem (to sort out)
• To stop doing smth or give up (to drop out)
• To criticise smb (to lash out + at)
• To shout at smb in a loud voice (to yell out)
• To prolong or extend (to draw out)

Используем контекст

Носители языка рекомендуют запоминать фразовые глаголы в контексте. Когда вы смотрите видео, слушаете песни, читаете в оригинале, то используете «настоящий», жизненный английский и реальные ситуации, что ускоряет запоминание.

Создаём историю

Попросите учеников придумать истории, используя как можно больше фразовых глаголов. Такие истории с фокусом на лексику называются cramped story. Например, после просмотра сериала «Friends» можно составить такую:

Можно придумывать небылицы, смешные и нелепые истории, главное — использовать как можно больше фразовых глаголов. Попросите учащихся составить историю только с фразовыми глаголами с частицей out.

One day, Anna decided to find out where her missing necklace had gone. She remembered that she had last seen it when she went out with her friends last weekend.

First, she began to look for clues in her room. She checked under her bed and in her closet, but she couldn’t find anything. Then, she thought that maybe her friend, Mia, could help her figure out what had happened.

Anna called Mia and said, «I need your help! Can you come over so we can puzzle this mystery out together?» Mia quickly agreed and said she would be there soon.

When Mia arrived, they both started to think where Anna could have lost the necklace. «Did you leave it at the restaurant?» Mia asked. «I need to check out that place!»

They decided to head out to the restaurant and ask the waiter if he had found anything. While they were waiting, Mia wanted to hang out and have a drink.
