Задание 1. Very expensive eggs

Начните упражнение с наводящего вопроса. 

Read and answer the question:

• What kind of eggs do you think are very expensive?

Затем покажите на фото украшенное драгоценностями яйцо и обсудите его. 

Look at the picture.

• What do you see?
• Do you know what it is called?

Дождитесь ответов и спросите: 

• Have you seen Fabergé eggs in a museum? Were they interesting to you?
• What do you know about these eggs? What are they made for? 

Read the quote and answer the questions:

1. Do you agree with this quote?
   • a) If so, what do you think makes a Fabergé egg a symbol of luxury and artistry? 
   • b) If not, why? 
2. Can you name some other objects or artifacts that represent opulence in modern society?

Откройте сайт Fabergé «Imperial Eggs — Discover the Legendary Collection of Exquisite Jewellery and Objets» и попросите учеников прочитать введение. Затем им необходимо посмотреть на фотографии разных яиц Фаберже, выбрать те, что понравились больше всего, прочесть информацию о них и затем всё это обсудить. 

Read the introduction. Look at the photos of different Fabergé eggs and choose the one you like mostly. Read the information next to it and discuss it with your teacher.

В конце спросите, почему людям нравятся такие яйца, и предложите учащимся представить, кому бы они могли их подарить и что было бы внутри.

1. How do Fabergé eggs reflect the culture and history of the time they were made?
2. Why do you think people still find Fabergé eggs fascinating?
3. Do you think owning a Fabergé egg should be considered a status symbol? Why or why not?
4. Easter eggs can contain lots of different presents that may range from chocolates to mechanical toys. But if you were a royal, what would you expect to find in one?
5. Imagine you can give a Fabergé Easter egg. What surprise will it have? Who will you give it to?

Задание 2. Word hunt

Подготовьте список слов, покажите ученикам и попросите подчеркнуть те, что НЕ связаны с Пасхой. 

Read the words and phrases, cross out the ones that are not related to Easter:

Задание 3. Pick an egg

Спросите учеников, что считается главным блюдом во время Пасхи. Дождитесь ответов и покажите разбитое яйцо. Попросите назвать части яйца. Затем поинтересуйтесь, в каком виде студенты предпочитают кушать яйца, и предложите соединить варианты приготовления с их описаниями.

• Can you name the parts of an egg?

• How do you prefer your eggs? 

Read and match the egg dishes with the descriptions:

1. Fried eggs
2. Sunny-side up
3. Poached egg
4. Omelette
5. Scrambled eggs
6. Hard-boiled eggs

a) Eggs fried on only one side.
b) A food made with eggs that have been mixed and fried, often with other foods added.
c) Eggs beaten and cooked to a soft firm consistency while stirring.
d) Eggs cooked by sauteing in oil or butter; sometimes turned and cooked on both sides.
e) An egg boiled gently until both the white and the yolk solidify.
f) An egg cooked in gently boiling water.

В конце покажите фото завтрака и попросите студентов описать его. Узнайте, нравится ли им такое блюдо.

Затем скажите, что учащимся предстоит посмотреть видео о том, как разные шефы готовят этот завтрак. Если нужно, дополнительно познакомьте ребят с незнакомыми словами.
