Упражнения для уроков английского языка весной

С приходом весны природа пробуждается, вносит изменения в нашу жизнь. Давайте понаблюдаем за этим переходом и обсудим с учениками природу, настроение, погоду, одежду, расширяя словарный запас и работая над навыками говорения. 

Предлагаем подборку упражнений для весенних уроков, которые подойдут для учащихся уровней Beginner, Elementary, Pre-Intermediate. Задания универсальны, могут вписаться в любую часть тематического урока. Используйте Grading своей речи, адаптируйте материал под уровень учащихся.

Природа весной

Упражнение 1

Почему бы не послушать классическую музыку и не показать красивый видеоряд? Предложите ученикам пьесу Чайковского «Времена года», часть о весне.

После прослушивания обсудите вопросы, адаптируя их под уровень школьников. Как показывает практика, даже взрослые уровня Pre-Intermediate не всегда могут сказать: «Деревья ещё голые, но в лесу появились подснежники и первая трава. День стал длиннее. Солнце светит, поэтому теплее».

Поскольку ученики бывают из разных стран, часовых поясов, такие смол-ток — часть нашего общения и обмена реалиями.

• What season ends? What are winter months?
• What season starts? What are spring months?
• What changes do we notice? Is the day longer? What time is the sunrise? Sunset?
• Why do Europeans say that spring starts on the 20th of March?
• Is it getting warmer? What was the temperature one week ago? What temperature is it now? Is there still any snow? Is it muddy? Are there any snow drifts in the forest?
• What do we see when spring starts? Are there any leaves? Is there the first fresh grass? Are there any flowers? 
• What trees are the first to bloom?
• What colors do we see in spring?
• Can you name any animals that come out in spring? (Bears, groundhogs, frogs, butterflies, bugs, ants, deer.)

Покажите список слов, попросите во время просмотра видео отмечать то, что они видят:

• The snow is melting.
• The sun is shining.
• There are many birds on the pond.
• It is cloudy.
• It is rainy.
• It is freezing.
• The birds fly away.
• There are no icicles.
• The trees are in blossom.
• First grass appeared in the forest.

Упражнение 2

Сделайте подборку картинок для студентов начальных уровней. Просите повторять, обводить, показывать на картинке, угадывать слова. Вводите слова в контексте грамматики, которую изучаете: this /that, numbers, colors, there is/are, prepositions. 

Для примера:

• There are many ants in the ant house.
• There is a big bright butterfly on the flower.
• The grass is green. 

Играйте с детьми, путайте их, вовлекайте в сюжет эмоционально, используйте методику Drilling, многократно произносите слова и предложения. 

Для примера:

• The snow is green. No! It isn’t. It is white. The days are very hot in winter. No, they aren’t. They are short.

По картинкам вы также можете дать такие задания:

• Find the differences. Mark them in the picture.
• Draw some insects that live in the grass.
• How many birds are there in the picture? What are they doing?

Упражнение 3

Студенты более высоких уровней могут читать дефиниции и угадывать слова. Например:

What flowers are the first to appear?

• Known for their delicate white petals, they are the earliest flowers to bloom, often emerging while there is still snow on the ground. (Snowdrops)
• With their bright yellow trumpet-shaped flowers, they are a cheerful sign of spring and typically bloom in late winter to early spring. (Daffodils)
• They come in a wide variety of colors and shapes, and they usually start to bloom in early spring, adding a splash of color to gardens. (Tulips)

Попросите прочитать и угадать из контекста значение выделенных слов. Также можно предложить ученикам сделать озвучку видеоряда под музыку Чайковского или написать субтитры на английском языке, используя эти же слова.

As spring arrives, many animals begin to emerge from their winter hibernation, signaling the change of seasons. Here are some common animals that come out in spring. 

After hibernating throughout the winter, bears awaken in the spring, searching for food. Many migratory birds return in spring after spending the winter in warmer climates. You might notice robins, swallows, and other species building nests and singing their songs. 

As temperatures rise, frogs and toads become more active, often seen near ponds where they breed and lay eggs. 

Many insects, such as bees and ladybugs, become active in spring, pollinating flowers and contributing to the ecosystem. As the snow melts and food becomes more available, deer are often seen grazing in fields and forests. Meanwhile, leaves begin to appear on deciduous trees, and some trees start to blossom.

Let’s read the forum. What do different people write about their mood at the beginning of spring?

• Mary: Winter can feel impossible and exhausting. Spring fatigue, have you heard about it?
• Kelly: I’d like to be the best version of myself in spring. I am motivated and energized to engage in outdoor activities. 
• Eugene: People go out on short trips or long vacations during this season. Children enjoy picnics and play around. This season is perfect for hiking and nature walks. So, I am awake as well.
• Igor: It’s a real pity, because it’s the best time of the year, but I’ve been allergic to pollen since I was a very young child. By the time I was 18 months my eyes watered and my nose ran all the time, and my allergy symptoms sometimes triggered frightening asthma attacks.

Обсудите значение выделенных слов, потренируйте их в переводных упражнениях или Role Play (например, рекомендации доктора, симптомы). Обсудите состояние людей, опираясь на картинки.

• Which picture may the story be relevant to?

• How might people feel as winter comes to an end? 
• What is your mood like when spring arrives?
• How does the weather affect your mood in spring?
• What philosophical meanings can be associated with the arrival of spring? In what ways do you think spring symbolizes new beginnings?

Предложим творческое задание. To-do list, bucket list, wish list, advent calendar, а вот календаря самопомощи ещё не было. Let’s create a self-care calendar! Пусть ученики составят список того, что им поможет пробудиться, адаптироваться и стать полными энергии.
