Christmas fun bucket list for teachers
Christmas is a time for incredible miracles and positive emotions. It is a perfect time for being away from reality, from everyday routine, and of course, from your classes. I am sure that most teachers enjoy their classes and love their students. However, all of us need atmosphere changes and a short pause from our work to get filled with ‘freshness’ and energy for the upcoming year and our classes. Here, we present a fun bucket list for teachers to make the most of the holidays.
Send a letter to Santa
Definitely, most of us believe in Christmas miracles deep in our hearts. So, why not write a letter to Santa and look forward to Christmas? Personally, I use colourful pens or markers and get a hand-made envelope from the Christmas market, prepare the letter and send it to the North Pole. In my country, you can also find boxes for sending the letters just in the city centre. Teachers, who are short of time and can’t go to the post office to send a letter to Santa, can just do it online by emailing Santa.
Have Christmas photo shooting
These days, social websites, especially Facebook* and Instagram* are full of photos with Christmas tree, Santa Claus and Christmas presents. Many people go to photo studios to have their Christmas photos with their family, friends, children, etc. Try not to copy them, think creatively and do something original. Shooting always takes me to another world where there is nothing but brightness, magic, and positivity.
Organise charity Christmas party
Where will the miracles come from if we don’t believe and don’t act? In fact, some Christmas miracles may come true through us and with our help. Organise charity Christmas party for poor children. It is not necessary to spend lots of money, you may just need a positive mind and willingness to organise something special. It has already become a tradition for my friends and me to organise such Christmas parties for poor children.
First, we inform these children about the upcoming event and ask them to write letters to Santa and get ready with songs and poems for the party. We decorate the hall with lights, balloons and Christmas tree. My cousin usually dresses like Santa and has lots of fun with children. Both the children and the organisers enjoy the party.
Drink hot chocolate and read a book by the fire
Next thing I enjoy doing is reading a book and drinking hot chocolate by the fire. It makes you feel relaxed and provides ‘warm’ atmosphere. If you wonder what book to read on holidays, check the article.
Watch Christmas films
Every year new and new films about Christmas are coming out. They transfer us to the world of magic, kindness and purity. It has become a tradition for many people to watch “Home alone” at Christmas. Some people even joke that there can be no Christmas celebration without “Home alone”. But those who are fans of novelty, are, of course, looking forward to the new list film producers have prepared for this year. Here you can find the list of the movies coming out in 2019.
Play Secret Santa
This is the thing I used to do when I studied at University and later when I worked at the airport. I thought that working online will stop this tradition. However, when you are working at Skyeng, there are no limitations. Every year it organises Secret Santa for online teachers all over the world. I find it really funny and amazing to get a present from my colleague whom I have never met. You can also play Secret Santa with your students, no matter online or offline.
Bake Christmas cookies
I really fancy baking at Christmas, as it brings you one step closer to Christmas miracles. Sweet Christmas trees and delicious Santa Clause heads will decorate your Christmas table.
Make a homemade gift
Do you opt for homemade presents? Would you like to get something expensive or something that your best friend, wife, husband, family members have made special for you? As for me, I prefer homemade gifts, since they are made with love, or else they wouldn’t be so nice and cute.
