3. Look and find

Ученикам нужно найти в табличке профессии, которые соответствуют описаниям из списка.

Find:

1. 6 people who work in the field of transportation (aviation and others) (key: pilot, air traffic controller, flight attendant, bus driver, cab / taxi driver, lorry driver),
2. 3 people whose work is to rescue people in emergency situations (key: firefighter, police officer, lifeguard),
3. 3 people who work in a bank (key: accountant, CFO, bank teller, general manager, computer programmer),
4. 5 people who work at school (key: bus driver, nursery school teacher / kindergarten teacher, headmaster / principal, tutor, psychologist),
5. 2 people who work in a shop / a store (key: shop assistant, cashier),
6. 6 people who work in a hospital (key: vet, surgeon, receptionist, nurse, dentist, general practitioner),
7. 4 people who work in a restaurant or pizzeria (key: waiter, chef, cook, barista, pizza delivery driver),
8. 2 people who work in the field of sports (key: sports coach, footballer),

10. 7 people whose work is to create (key: author, graphic designer, artist, architect, inventor, sculptor, photographer),

4. Work field

Предложим студентам покрутить колесо и назвать как можно больше профессий из областей работы.

Spin the wheel and name as many jobs as you can in these work fields.

Other work fields: police, transportation, rescue.

5. Create your city

Сыграем с учениками в игру и придумаем город.

Rules of the game:

• There are men and women in the city. Look at the first woman.

• Spin the wheel and choose the letter. Create a name for the woman. It must start with the chosen letter.

• Spin the wheel and choose the letter. Create the woman’s occupation. It must start with the chosen letter.

• Introduce the new citizen of the city. Answer the questions:

1. What is her/his name?
2. How old is she/he?
3. What is her/his occupation?
4. Where does she/he work?
5. What does she/he do at work?

В течение одной минуты ученик должен назвать пять профессий, отвечающих одному из критериев.

In a minute say five:

1. dangerous jobs,
2. creative jobs,
3. jobs connected with cooking,
4. jobs connected with finances,
5. jobs that have shifts,
6. jobs that can be part-time,
7. jobs that have seasonal work,
8. jobs that can have temporary work.

7. A desert island

Попросим учеников представить, что они на необитаемом острове с 10 людьми. Студентам нужно придумать 10 профессий, которые бесполезны для выживания.

Imagine you are on a desert island with 10 people. All of them have different jobs. You have some parts from your broken ship and some food. Name 10 jobs you would like these people to be and 10 jobs which can be useless in this situation.

8. Complete the ranks

Попросим студентов заполнить пропуски.

Complete two ranks of top 10 jobs for foreigners in Japan and Canada in 2022 and 2023. Try to guess!

Jobs to use: registered nurse, accountant, industrial electrician, SAP / ERM / CRM consultant, web developer, robotic engineer, electrical engineer, truck driver, university professor, English teacher, translator and interpreter, international sales representative, retail worker, researcher, welder, vet, licensed practical nurse, software engineer, pharmacist, model.

9. Professions of the future

Интересно предложить ученикам порассуждать о том, какие профессии могут исчезнуть в будущем, а какие будут и дальше востребованы на рынке труда.

Express your opinion if these professions will be demanded in 20 years:

1. accountant,
2. bank teller,
3. tourist agent and tour guide,
4. postman,
5. notary,
6. cashier,
7. IT security specialist,
8. artist,
9. journalist,
10. news writer.

There is an opinion of some researchers that these jobs will be replaced by robots and bots.
