Упражнение 1. Ideas for a warm-up / lead-in

Современным детям неинтересно обсуждать продовольственный магазин из учебника, им нужны яркие примеры, желательно из их жизни: то, чем они живут, делятся друг с другом, о чем говорят ежедневно. Давайте предложим учащимся онлайн-маркетплейсы: Wildberries, Ozon, Lamoda, «Яндекс Маркет».

Do you use such apps?

Эти слова стали общепринятыми и в русском языке, но можно поиграть в игру «Отгадай», чтобы проверить понимание этих слов. 

• What do you need to find information? (search)
• What do you need to do to have an app on your phone? (download)
• A smartphone, a tablet, a laptop (gadget)
• If you want to cancel it (delete)
• If you check information (google)

Explain to an alien what to do if he wants to try online shopping.

Use Imperative: talk / don’t talk.

Обсудите с ребятами проблемы, с которыми можно столкнуться, заказывая вещи онлайн. Покажите им примеры. Сравните.

Попросите учащихся поделиться своим опытом или историями о неудачных покупках онлайн. Используйте Present Perfect, говоря об опыте, и Past Simple, говоря о деталях.

• Have you ever bought something online? What was it? How much was it? 
• Have you ever visited a Zara shop? When was your last time? Who did you go there with?
• Have you ever waited long for your package? How long? What did you do next? Did you cancel?
• Have you ever returned goods? What goods were they? Why did you return them? 

Мы попытались персонализировать урок на тему «Покупки», сделать его жизненным и реальным, чтобы вызвать интерес учащихся. Вы можете усложнять этот урок лексикой (to shop until you drop, to pick up a bargain) и грамматикой (Present Perfect Continuous) для более высоких уровней и упрощать для низких уровней (вместо Present Perfect возьмите модальный глагол can).
