Новый план урока английского вдохновлен приближающимися датами Недели моды в Нью-Йорке. Он подойдет взрослым ученикам с уровнем Upper-Intermediate и выше. С помощью темы моды студенты познакомятся с еще одним важным событием мирового масштаба и заодно расширят свой словарный запас, прокачают навыки аудирования, чтения и говорения.
План урока:

Task 1. Warm-up

Look at the pictures and describe them.

- Would you wear the same clothes as these models?

Task 2. Lead-in

- How does fashion affect our lives?

The most prominent fashion weeks are held in the fashion capitals of the world—in chronological order, New York City, London, Milan, and Paris.

Task 4. Schiaparelli look. Discussion

bob — a hair style for women and children, a short haircut all around
slicked — (of hair) made smooth by applying a sticky or glossy substance
strand — a thin piece of hair, thread, rope, etc.

- to be dressed to kill
- cheap and cheerful
- a) someone who wears fashionable clothes even when they do not look good on him
- b) clothing that does not cost much but is attractive
- c) people will judge you by your clothes, i.e. good clothes will make people respect you more

- Are fashion trends difficult to follow these days?
- Do fashion trends exist just to sell clothes?
- Do we have to follow fashion trends?
- Is it better to dress in what we like?
- Is it more important to feel comfortable in clothes rather than to look fashionable?
